Meet Jack - Founder and Product Design Engineer
As Print My Part has grown, the majority of my work is now focused on product design and engineering. I combine over 10 years of experience bringing physical products to market with a strong understanding of CAD, manufacturing and prototyping.
I deliberately take on a limited number of projects at any one time. This allows me to become fully immersed in each project and provide a genuinely hands-on service from the initial brief through to prototype and production.
My approach is practical and commercially focused. I don't just design products that look good on screen; I consider how they will function, how they will be manufactured, what they will cost and how they will perform in the real world.
I work closely with clients throughout the development process, keeping communication clear and straightforward and avoiding unnecessary complexity. The result is a focused, efficient development process with a clear route from concept to production.
Experience
I am a qualified Product Design Engineer with a First Class Honours degree in Product Design Engineering from Brunel University London. My final-year project was awarded the Runnymede Prize for Best Design Project, alongside a James Dyson Foundation Scholarship.
Since graduating in 2014, I have gained extensive experience developing functional products for both established companies and smaller businesses. I've worked on products for companies including Dyson, as well as managing complete product development projects for smaller businesses.
My experience covers the full development process, from initial concept generation and CAD development through prototyping, testing, manufacturing and production support. I've worked on products sold through both B2B and B2C channels, as well as products brought to market through crowdfunding.
I am highly proficient in SOLIDWORKS and professional CAD development, with particular experience designing components and assemblies for injection moulding and other mass-production processes.
I have also developed a network of trusted manufacturing contacts in the UK and Far East, allowing me to support clients beyond the design stage and help establish and manage production.
Design. Prototype. Refine
One of the advantages of working directly with me is that I can combine design and prototyping under one roof.
Access to professional-grade 3D printing facilities allow me to quickly produce prototypes throughout the development process. This means designs can be physically tested, refined and validated before committing to expensive tooling or larger production runs.
This hands-on approach allows me to identify problems early and make better design decisions throughout development.

My experience in both product design and manufacturing means I can look beyond the CAD model and consider the bigger picture.
The aim is always to develop a fully functional, manufacturable product, rather than simply produce a good-looking CAD model.
