Approach
As Print My Part continues to grow, the vast majority of my time is now devoted to Product Design work. My unique skill set and in-depth understanding of mass production processes coupled with in-house prototyping facilities offers clients a comprehensive product development process and a clear route from concept to production .
Unlike some larger design houses, we are small enough to offer an unparalleled level of service and personal attention. Operating from Print My Part HQ, I take on a limited number of clients at any one time. This ensures I can fully immerse myself in your project, considering every aspect of the design whilst remaining personable and communicating in simple terms and in a timely manner. This approach results in a fast paced product development process so projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Experience
I am a qualified and experienced Product Design Engineer with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Product Design Engineering from Brunel University London, where my major project also received the Runnymede Prize (best design project) and a James Dyson Foundation Scholarship.
Since graduating in 2014, I have gained many years experience bringing products to market, working on functional products for highly acclaimed companies such as a Dyson. I have also worked for smaller companies where I have managed the whole design process from initial idea generation through to mass production line quality control and sign off. I also have experience bringing products to market through tradition B2B and B2C routes as well as through crowdfunding campaigns such as Kickstarter™.
I am highly proficient in CAD packages such as Solidworks and I have substantial knowledge of designing parts for mass production, in particular Injection Moulding. Furthermore, through my industrial experience I have gained valuable contacts with factories in the UK and Far-East. I can therefore establish and manage Far-East mass production opportunities.
This unique skill set enables me to design products which are much more than 'just a visual'. I am able to design fully functional products with commercial viability and real world application in mind.
Carrying out freelance duties from the Print My Part HQ, clients can benefit from in-house professional grade 3D printers to prototype designs and maximise efficiency. This allows clients to have complete visualisation of the final output, throughout the design process.
